Speed & Red Light Enforcement
Under Queensland’s Transport Operations (Road Use Management – Road Rules) Regulation 2009, it is an offence for drivers to exceed the speed limit applying to a section of road by any amount, or for drivers to travel into an intersection when faced with a red traffic light. Enforcement methods for detecting these offences include on-road police enforcement, as well as speed or red light cameras.
Decade of Action for Road Safety 2011 - 2020
The Decade of Action for Road Safety is a United Nations initiative which aims to reduce projected global road traffic deaths by half over the next 10 years. It is being led internationally by the World Health Organisation (WHO) and supported by the Federation Internationale de L’Automobile (FIA) Foundation, of which RACQ is a constituent member.
