MotorFest 2010

Families flock to Eagle Farm

Cars, fashion, food and family fun drove big crowds to Brisbane’s Eagle Farm Racecourse on 11 July 2010, when almost 800 thoroughbreds from the motoring world gathered at the track for RACQ MotorFest 2010.

The motoring club’s biggest annual community event featured fashion parades, carnival rides and live entertainment, alongside special displays celebrating a centenary of Alfa Romeo and 50 years of the Ford Falcon.

More than 12,000 people attended the event, with entry donations and car park takings raising thousands of dollars for the RACQ Helicopter Rescue Network.

Vehicles on display included the million-dollar G1 roadster, the oldest Alfa Romeo in existence, and every generation of the iconic Ford Falcon, including the new 50th anniversary edition

Although cars were the main focus of MotorFest, there was a host of other attractions designed to please all members of the family.

A live performance by country music star Luke Austin was a big drawcard, while the Mitsubishi Evo rally simulator, roving entertainers and carnival rides added to the atmosphere.

Lovers of fine food and wine were tempted with the best the South Burnett had to offer, while clown duo Peebo and Dagwood performed to a packed house of delighted children and their parents.

2011 MotorFest will be held at Eagle Farm Racecourse on Sunday 17 July. If you would like to be added to the electronic mailing list to receive information about MotorFest 2011 please contact events@racq.com.au.
