Husband and wife team, Dean and Vicki Gibbs, have been presented with an RACQ award for their outstanding service to the motoring club’s members this year.
As the owners and operators of Southeys Mechanical Repairs, which they established in Dalby nine years ago, the Gibbs have won the Contract Service Provider for the Quarter Award in the Level Two category.
It is the second time RACQ has awarded the Gibbs for their outstanding service since they became RACQ contractors four years ago.
RACQ Regional Manager Brad Skyring said the Club recognised contracted service providers who consistently delivered the best service to members, through awards presented on a quarterly basis.
"This award is not easy to come by and is presented only to those contractors who go out of their way to give the very best service to RACQ members," Mr Skyring said.
"This is the second time the Gibbs have earned an RACQ award in the four years they’ve been RACQ contractors – which says a lot about the high standard of service they offer.
"Dean and Vicki Gibbs deserve congratulations for the consistent effort they make to provide exceptional customer service."
Born and bred in Dalby, Mr and Mrs Gibbs run their mechanical repairs business with a staff of 14 and are kept busy despite competition from another five workshops in town.
Mrs Gibbs said they repaired small cars through to heavy vehicles and had a good local customer base as well as assisting motorists who required repairs when passing through Dalby.
She said the award was a surprise and it was nice to be acknowledged.
"It’s always encouraging to be acknowledged for the hard work we do – and it’s good for staff morale," Mrs Gibbs said.
