Mr Pietsch is a grazier, Chairman of RACQ Insurance Limited, and a director of the Australian Stud Sheep Breeders Association Limited and Agforce Sheep and Wool Limited. Mr Pietsch has served as a Director on the Queensland Chamber and the Federal Council of Agricultural Societies and as Deputy Mayor of the former Inglewood Shire Council. Mr Pietsch was awarded the Order of Australia Medal in the Australia Day 2011 honours list.
