What you get with Aussie Assist
To successfully claim any of the below benefits, you need to call us before incurring any expenses.
The benefits listed below are a summary only and limits apply. Please refer to your PDS for full details, exclusions, and terms and conditions.
We can help you organise alternative travel arrangements, accommodation and an emergency assistance service. If you have personal items stolen, we can also organise the transfer of your funds. We can also help you cancel or replace stolen credit cards or travel tickets.
We can arrange for a qualified doctor or nurse to be available to provide advice and assistance over the phone. They can help arrange hospital admission, monitor your medical treatment and more.
If unexpected injury or illness occurs to you or your family while travelling other than in a motor vehicle, we will arrange and pay for the transportation of the ill or injured person and family members travelling with them. We will also pay to transport family members to the hospital if the sick or injured person is in hospital for more than a week and can’t be moved. If the person can be moved we’ll get them home or to another hospital.
Assistance sourcing spare parts
If your vehicle suffers mechanical or electrical breakdown and parts are not available locally, we will help you to source them elsewhere.
If an immediate family member dies suddenly back home, or you or a family member dies whilst travelling, we will pay for transport for you and your family plus pay for the ground transport for the motor vehicle in which you were travelling.
If there is an emergency while you or your immediate family are travelling, and no-one is able to drive the vehicle, we will pay accommodation and travel costs.
We also pay the cost of transporting the vehicle you were travelling in back to your home. An emergency can include any unexpected and serious injury or illness or vehicle theft. Conditions and limits apply to this benefit depending on your circumstances.
Emergency expenses following theft of your motor vehicle
If you or your family are travelling in a motor vehicle owned by your or your family and it is stolen we will arrange and pay for:
