Auctions are another option for the disposal of used cars, particularly those which need some work to make them saleable.
Again, you are unlikely to get as much as you would from a private sale, however the advantage is you won’t have to worry about getting a Safety Certificate or advertising your car. If your used car won’t pass the Safety Certificate inspection you may have to sell it unregistered.
The fees charged and the arrangements for auctions vary so you will need to discuss this with some auction houses to find the best one for your purposes. You should also discuss the reserve price with the one you select.
