Corporate & Fleet Drivers
- What is the minimum number of staff required to hold a training program?
There is no minimum number required. Depending on the course we can provide driver education programs which suit your individual business requirements, or we may integrate with other client groups if required.
- What is the ratio of coach to participants when completing in-car coaching sessions?
Low course ratio of 1 coach to 3 participants creates an excellent learning environment with significant one-on-one attention. Private one-on-one refresher lessons can be arranged separately.
- When do courses run?
We are flexible with the day and time.
- Where are courses conducted?
Courses can be tailored to suit your business needs, they can be conducted remotely at your premises, or at the RACQ’s driver training facilities. 4WD courses are run from Kurwongbah (north of Brisbane) and Bribie Island. For corporate site specific courses these can be arranged from Townsville, Mackay, Rockhampton, Gold Coast, Cairns, Murwillumbah and Mittagong (minimum numbers apply).
- What reporting is provided on completion of a course to the participant?
The participant is provided with a certificate of attendance.
- As a business, what reporting will I be provided with?
If your business has arranged for staff to attend either the Driver Education Program training course or an individual Driver Assessment, a detailed report will be provided on each participant relative to the course content.
- Do you have skidpan facilities?
No. RACQ’s Driver Education training is focused on the attitudes and behaviour of drivers on the road, not just the speed and performance of the vehicle, in the event of an emergency. All driving is conducted in real world environments where employees will be driving every day.
- Are the courses expensive?
Prices are very competitive and offer value for money. Discounts are available to fleet members. Contact us for a quote.
- Do you have defensive driving courses?
Defensive driving courses are often associated with a ‘fun day’ out. Our driver education training focuses on everyday driving skills, attitudes and behaviours. In addressing these factors and providing the opportunity to obtain real time feedback and practice, we help arm drivers with the skills to be safer on the roads – prevention of collision rather than reacting to an emergency event.
- Where are on-road driving assessments completed?
Practical driver assessments take place on-road in a range of urban traffic environments in prevailing weather conditions providing a real world driving education experience.
- Can anyone participate in the driver education programs?
Any licenced driver can attend whether they are a new driver who has just obtained their “P” licence through to the more experienced driver who would like to refresh their skills.
- As part of our staff rehabilitation program, the doctor has requested our staff to have a driving assessment completed. Is this completed in their own car?
Passenger vehicle driving assessments are carried out using RACQ Driver Education vehicles. These vehicles are fitted with dual controls and monitoring systems that allow us to make a full assessment of driving ability. Assessments can also be undertaken in specific vehicles, e.g. bus or 4WD by arrangement.
- We have a staff member who has recently recovered from an ailment that has altered their ability to drive. Are we able to get driving lessons to assist them back on the road?
Our qualified coaches can undertake a series of rehabilitation driving lessons specifically tailored to address individual needs. RACQ Driver Education vehicles are fitted with dual controls and also have vehicle modifications such as hand controls, left foot accelerator and spinner knob available, if required. A medical certificate or clearance may be required from the doctor prior to undertaking these lessons.
