Australian New Car Assessment Program Crash Tests

The Australian New Car Assessment Program (ANCAP) involves crash testing late model vehicles to compare the injury levels and survival prospects of occupants involved in frontal and side collisions.

ANCAP gives consumers consistent information on the level of occupant protection provided by vehicles in serious front and side crashes.

ANCAP is supported by Australian and New Zealand automobile clubs and transport authorities of NSW, Victoria, South Australia, Queensland, Tasmania and Western Australia and the New Zealand Government.

RACQ encourages you to consider ANCAP ratings when choosing a new vehicle. Crash test result brochures are available from RACQ branches and Queensland Transport customer service centres.

For more information about ANCAP, including the latest crash test results, visit the ANCAP website.
