RACQ Battery Product Terms & Conditions

Prices listed on the Battery Finder are estimated prices only and are subject to these terms and conditions.

Conditions of purchase

1. RACQ members receive a $15 discount off the recommended retail price (also referred to as the Non-Member Price) of batteries or battery products that are listed in the Battery Finder.
2. If you are a current RACQ member and purchase an RACQ Battery from RACQ Operations Pty Ltd then for the different type of batteries supplied by RACQ Operations Pty Ltd you will receive:

3. If you are not a current RACQ member and purchase an RACQ Battery from RACQ Operations Pty Ltd then for the different type of batteries supplied by RACQ Operations Pty Ltd you will receive:

4. RACQ Batteries or Battery Chargers are delivered by RACQ Operations Pty Ltd or its authorised representatives.
5. ^Only Cars and Light Commercials and 6 Volt type batteries are installed by RACQ Operations Pty Ltd or its authorised representatives.
6. If you are not a current RACQ member and are supplied a RACQ Battery or Battery Charger by RACQ’s authorised representatives they may charge a fee.
7. RACQ Operations Pty Ltd or its authorised representatives will not refund you the purchase price simply because you have made the wrong battery product selection or no longer wish to keep the battery product.

RACQ Battery Product Warranty

In summary, RACQ’s Batteries and Battery Chargers have the following warranty period(s):

Warranty Timeframes

^# A commercial vehicle is any vehicle identified on the registration label as a commercial vehicle and/or used for the provision of providing goods and services on a commercial basis. Examples include but not limited to: trucks, buses, trades utes or vans, hire and driving school vehicles, and vehicles with commercial signage.

Conditions

We and our authorised representatives will not accept the results of any tests performed by another repairer or manufacturer in determining if a battery product has failed under the warranty.

The warranty timeframe is applied from the initial date of purchase of an RACQ Battery or Battery Charger, and not from the date of a replacement RACQ Battery or Battery Charger under warranty.

You are ineligible for any replacement RACQ battery if you are not the original purchaser of the battery from RACQ or its Authorised Stockist.  RACQ’s battery warranty is not transferable or assignable as a result of a third party transaction.

Your RACQ Battery warranty is void if the RACQ Battery has failed due to after sales damage caused or contributed to by you, your negligence, your incorrect use, or you have disposed of your RACQ Battery.

How to claim a warranty

To claim under the RACQ Battery or Battery Charger warranty you must:

1. retain the sales receipt as proof of purchase of the RACQ Battery or Battery Charger;
2. retain your RACQ Battery or Battery Charger;
3. contact us on 13 11 11 or visit our authorised representatives with your RACQ Battery or Battery Charger and sales receipt;
4. allow us or our authorised representatives to perform tests to determine the condition of the battery product; and
5. for RACQ Marine or Deep Cycle Battery you must ensure that these products are fully recharged with an appropriate multistage charger prior to submitting a warranty claim.

What we will cover:

Within the RACQ Battery or Battery Charger warranty timeframe, RACQ Operations Pty Ltd or its authorised representatives will replace your RACQ Battery or Battery Charger, free of charge, if you present your sales receipt and tests determine that the product has failed the testing due to faulty workmanship or materials.

What we will not do:

• RACQ Operations Pty Ltd or its authorised representatives will not cover the cost of attending your vehicle to service, replace or test an RACQ 6 Volt or Vehicle Battery or Battery Charger under warranty if you are not a current RACQ member. A non refundable service fee may apply for this attendance if you are not an RACQ member;
• Cover the cost of delivery to replace a RACQ Marine, Deep Cycle, Heavy Vehicle, Agricultural or Motorcycle Battery;
• Replace free of charge an RACQ Battery or Battery Charger outside the warranty period specified on the original sales receipt; or
• The cost of repairs to your vehicle or recharging an RACQ Battery to return it to a normal condition.

Australia-wide Warranty

RACQ Battery warranties are honoured by affiliated automobile club throughout Australia on presentation of a sales receipt for the RACQ Battery product.  Our affiliates Australia-wide are:

• Victoria – RACV
• Tasmania – RACT
• South Australia – RAA
• Western Australia – RAC
• Northern Territory – AANT
