Departs Adelaide every Sunday - April through to June 2012

Day 1 Adelaide and join The Ghan
Join The Ghan in Adelaide, settle into the comforts of this great train. Enjoy lunch in the Restaurant Car as you travel north towards Spencer Gulf and Port Augusta.
Day 2 Outback and Alice Springs
After arriving in Alice Springs you'll have time to enjoy a Whistle Stop Tour before reboarding the train and enjoying the desert scenery as you continue your journey north overnight.
Day 3 Katherine and Darwin
In the morning you arrive in Katherine, here you can join a Whistle Stop Tour at Katherine Gorge. Hop back on board for your journey north through the lush, Top End countryside before arriving in Darwin. Transfer to the Holiday Inn Esplanade, your base for the next 3 nights.
Day 4 Darwin
The morning is free for you to relax in this warm and cosmopolitan city before joining your city sights tour in the afternoon for the perfect overview of Darwin. See the Chinese Temple, the lush Botanical Gardens, East Point Military Precinct and the Stokes Hill Wharf area.
Day 5 Darwin and Jumping Crocodiles
Again you'll have the morning free. This afternoon it's time for a real treat - the famous Adelaide River Jumping Crocodile Cruise. You'll see these prehistoric creatures at close range as your guide entices the crocodiles to leap out of the water right next to the boat! Then it's on to the Window on the Wetlands Visitors Centre for views over the Marrakai Plains and Fogg Dam Nature Reserve.
Day 6 Darwin
After breakfast check out of your hotel.

GSR seniors concession cards are not valid. Great Southern Rail (on behalf of The Ghan) is required to confirm your eligibility for concession electronically with CentreLink. If you do not want this to happen you will need to contact CentreLink to obtain a Pension Concession letter as proof of your eligibility for the concession and provide this directly to Great Southern Rail before the concession can be given
