The Ghan

Travel by rail between Adelaide, Alice Springs and Darwin and you are embarking on one of the great train journeys of the world. Named after the Afghan cameleers who once traversed this route, The Ghan will take you from one edge of this continent to the other, through the very centre of Australia.

A journey on The Ghan is an incomparable way to travel to the two jewels of Australia's Northern Territory – the Red Centre and the tropical Top End. No journey aboard The Ghan is complete without taking in both of these must-see destinations.

Indian Pacific

Travelling between the Indian and Pacific oceans for over 40 years, this truly is one of the world's great train journeys, the whole distance will take three days and three nights. Setting off from Perth, your train arrives late evening at your first stop in the city of Kalgoorlie. Next day, you'll discover the landscape takes on a richer hue into the ancient Nullarbor Plain. Arriving in Adelaide the following morning you can choose to break your journey for a few days touring this picturesque city, or continue directly on to Broken Hill, From here you'll travel through some of Australia's most productive farming country and into the arid outback as the sun sets. Next morning is the finale of your journey through the spectacular Blue Mountains. Naturally, you can also do this journey from Sydney to Perth – it’s just as unforgettable

The Overland

There's no better way to enjoy the trip between Melbourne and Adelaide than on The Overland. Recently refurbished, The Overland provides a comfortable, relaxing journey between the cities and a great way to ease into a holiday in either Melbourne, Adelaide or surrounding regions.
