One of the world's most beautiful rainforest experiences, Skyrail Rainforest Cableway is a gondola cableway designed to carry passengers just above the rainforest canopy between Cairns and Kuranda.
The Kuranda Scenic Railway journey winds its way through unsurpassed views of World Heritage listed rainforest, steep ravines and picturesque waterfalls within the Barron Gorge National Park.
See uninterrupted views of Australia's World Heritage Protected Tropical Rainforests on Skyrail's prototype gondola with a see through glass floor. This new gondola is on trial and Skyrail would love your feedback.

Discount Skyrail tickets for RACQ members
To take advantage of the special RACQ member prices, you must pre-purchase your tickets. Purchase online, visit an RACQ branch or phone the RACQ on 1800 629 501.
RACQ suggests phoning Skyrail on 07 4038 5555 prior to pre-purchasing your tickets to ensure availability for your selected date of attendance. Selecting a date for attendance when pre-purchasing your tickets from RACQ does NOT guarantee availability for that date.
Once you have purchased your tickets from RACQ you MUST reserve your seats by calling Skyrail on 07 4038 5555 and advise you have an RACQ voucher. Printed RACQ voucher must be presented on day of travel.
Skyrail Rainforest Cableway Experience
Skyrail Rainforest Cableway takes you on an amazing experience over Australia’s World Heritage listed Tropical Rainforest canopy and deep into the forest. A one way Skyrail experience should take approximately 1½ hours, this includes spending time at the two rainforest mid-stations. Allow 20 minutes for each station, to enjoy Ranger guided boardwalk tours and visit the lookouts and historical displays.
Skyrail’s Caravonica Terminal is located just 15 minutes drive north from Cairns city or 50 minutes south from Port Douglas. Skyrail’s Kuranda Terminal is located a short walk from the famous village of Kuranda, where you’ll be able to enjoy rainforest walks, the local attractions and shopping.

Tjapukai Aboriginal Cultural Centre Experiences
Tjapukai Aboriginal Cultural Park is located within walking distance of Skyrail’s Caravonica Terminal and combines dance, history and legends to create a dynamic interpretation of 40,000 years of culture.
Tjapukai by Day is a traditional Aboriginal Culture which celebrates the living history of the Indigenous people of the rainforest. Learn to play the didgeridoo, discover the medicinal values of bush tucker, also learn how to throw a spear and enjoy professional theatre incorporating traditional Aboriginal culture with dancing, fire making and storytelling. New to Tjapukai Aboriginal Park is a genuine cultural and visual Australian journey featuring the didgeridoo plus an expansion of the Cultural Village’s program to include hunting and ochre demonstrations.

Rainforestation Interpretation Centre Experiences

Kuranda Wildlife Experiences

Djabugay Walking Tour Experiences
The Djabugay Aboriginal Guided Tour at Barron Falls provides a fascinating insight into the Aboriginal history, language, culture, stories and traditions of the indigenous rainforest people through a personalised, small group [maximum 10 guests per group]. This 40 minute guided walking tour will take you through the rainforest.
Walk in the footsteps of the Djabugay people on the natural rainforest trails and discover “Bulurru” – the Spirit of Creation. The greatest ancestor of all is Gudju Gudju, the Rainbow. Gudju Gudju could transform into ancestors such as Budaadji, the carpet snake, who created all rivers and creeks of Barron Gorge National Park. Marvel at the traditional bush foods, shelters and Aboriginal history of the rainforests.
Please note: appropriate, flat soled, enclosed footwear is essential. Rainforest trails are not suitable for guests with mobility issues or wheelchairs. You will require a coach transfer, unless you are self driving, using public transport, or have arranged alternate means.
