The Indian-Pacific train crosses Australia from Sydney in the east to Perth in the west. The 4,352km journey takes 3 days and 3 nights.

The train travels through some of Australia's most diverse countryside, including the Blue Mountains, rich farming areas and the semi-arid interior. As the Indian-Pacific crosses the Nullarbor Plain (between South Australia and Western Australia), it travels the world's longest straight stretch of rail line for 467kms.

The Ghan travels from Darwin in Australia's tropical "Top End" to Adelaide in South Australia. The journey takes approximately 47 hours and traverses some 2979km. Off-train touring options in Alice Springs and Katherine Gorge are available for a modest additional cost.
