RACQ secures landmark ticketing deal for members
RACQ today announced it has secured a significant share in one of Queensland’s largest entertainment ticket retailers, TicketMates.
RACQ Group CEO Ian Gillespie said RACQ’s 50 percent share investment in TicketMates was part of the Club’s ongoing diversification strategy of securing wide-ranging benefits for its almost 1.7 million members.
“We’re very pleased to have finalised this investment for our members, which cements RACQ’s dominant position in the tourism and ticketing market,” Mr Gillespie said.
“RACQ is already Australia’s largest reseller of movie tickets with total sales of $7.56 million last year, up 42 percent since we introduced online purchase options for members.
“We’re looking forward to even greater benefits for current and future members through this deal, with TicketMates providing discounts for more than 3500 experiences and attractions across Australia and New Zealand.”
TicketMates CEO Ben Manns said its business was poised for further growth.
“We’re pleased the quality of our business has attracted one of the most trusted organisations in Queensland in RACQ,” Mr Manns said.
“We’re excited and confident TicketMates’ expertise will successfully add value and diversify RACQ’s travel product offerings in both Australia and New Zealand.”
Mr Gillespie said RACQ members saved more than $1 million across 170,000 ticketing experiences purchased through the Club last year, including at Event Cinemas, Movie World, Sea World, SkyRail, Australia Zoo, Taronga Zoo and the Sydney Bridge Climb.
