Brisbane turns on the perfect day for RACQ MotorFest
A perfect winter’s day created idyllic conditions for this year’s RACQ MotorFest, held at the newly renovated Eagle Farm Racecourse.
More than 15,000 people flocked to Sunday’s event to view more than 500 classic, vintage and unique vehicles.
RACQ spokesperson Lauren Ritchie said it was an exceptional display of motoring history.
“There was a very impressive display of more than 100 BMWs at this year’s RACQ MotorFest to mark a century of the legendary car manufacturer,” Ms Ritchie said.
“There was also an extensive turn out of Toyota Corollas to acknowledge 50 years of being in the market.”
Ms Ritchie said it was an enjoyable day not only reserved for car lovers.
“We’re always conscious of making the day fun for the whole family and this year kids were spoilt for choice with roving entertainers, rides, face painting and a petting zoo,” she said.
“We’re always trying to up the ante and next year will be no different. We’ll begin preparations in a few weeks for RACQ MotorFest 2017.”
The event raised much-needed funds for RACQ’s Rescue Helicopter network, which includes RACQ Careflight, RACQ CQ Rescue and RACQ Capricorn Helicopter Rescue.
