Queensland Border Declaration Pass now available online
RACQ has informed motorists they could now apply for a Queensland Border Declaration Pass online if they wished to enter the State.
Club spokesperson Lauren Ritchie said the declaration had to be completed by anyone entering Queensland as of midday Friday 3 July.
“Previous border entry passes are now invalid and if you’re travelling by road you need to have a new declaration pass displayed within your vehicle,” Ms Ritchie said.
“Even if you’re a Queensland resident, you will have to compete one of these forms to be granted access into the State.
“To ensure traffic can move as quickly and efficiently as possible, please have this new form filled out and displayed properly.
“We expect there may be a few extra delays at the border this afternoon and over the next few days as everyone adjusts to the new process.”
Ms Ritchie said when the borders opened to the rest of the States and Territories, apart from Victoria, on 10 July, lengthy delays were expected.
“We know there will be many people from across the country keen to visit Queensland in winter, which is why we’re urging motorists to practice patience,” she said.
“This is just like any other busy period on our roads, like school holidays and long weekends. Please allow for extra travel time and plan accordingly.
“This is about keeping all Queenslanders safe, on and off the roads.”
