Fuel up with RACQ
RACQ members can now receive fuel discounts at service stations around the country.
The deal with independent fuel retailer chain Puma Energy allows members to save four cents per litre off their fuel purchases.
RACQ’s Paul Turner said the deal was the first of its kind in the Club’s history.
“We asked members what direct steps we should make to help drive down fuel prices and they called out for discounts at the bowser,” Mr Turner said.
“We’re pleased to not only offer this discount on all fuel types at more than 100 participating Puma servos in Queensland, but Australia wide. Perfect for those members taking an inter-state road trip.”
Mr Turner said RACQ’s Advocacy team would continue to hold service stations to account.
“We’ve spent decades campaigning for cheaper fuel, and this is another step in our journey to drive down those prices across the State,” he said.
“Queensland’s fuel market is dominated by the majors and the supermarket chains, and we need more competition from the smaller chains and independents to drive down prices.
“Our campaigning for lower fuel prices will be unchanged by this agreement. We’ll remain fearless and independent in our commentary regardless of who we partner with.”
Since launch on December 22, this discount has been used by members over 62,000 times, with total savings of over $93,000.
