Robotic road cones roll out in Brisbane
RACQ Head of Public Policy Rebecca Michael said the Club would monitor the results of the trial with interest.
“We support trialling new innovative technology to reduce risk and exposure for the traffic management industry and other road workers, including vehicle recovery operators and emergency services,” Dr Michael said.
“Getting road workers home safely is the ultimate goal and because our RACQ roadside workers are also exposed to these and other highspeed environments, we’re looking forward to seeing the results.”
Dr Michael reiterated how important it was for motorists to move over and slow down whenever they approached roadside workers.
“While we welcome any technology which will make our roads safer, ultimately drivers need to do their bit to ensure everyone gets home to their families.”
