Wheels could fall off Major car recall

RACQ has warned drivers impacted by the Mazda recall to not ignore the issue or risk their wheels falling off.

The Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC) has released several recalls over safety issues with loose bolts, defective brakes and incorrectly-installed windshields.

More than 3000 were impacted, including the Mazda 3 model which has been recalled due to a manufacturing fault which could result in the wheels falling off.

Mazda issued a statement that a “rattling noise occurs prior to a wheel detachment from the vehicle”.

RACQ’s Lauren Ritchie said affected owners would be contacted directly by manufacturers.

“If you receive a notice, please don’t ignore it. Schedule an appointment at your nearest dealership who will make the necessary repairs at no cost,” Ms Ritchie said.
