Serious safety warning after horror day on Qld roads

RACQ has issued a strong warning to motorists after four separate crashes on south east Queensland roads in one afternoon left three people fighting for life.

The Courier Mail reported a car collided with a motorcycle in Caboolture just after 2pm on Tuesday and one man was taken to Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital in a critical condition.

RACQ spokesperson Renee Smith said a teenager was also taken to Princess Alexandra Hospital with head and suspected spinal injuries after a motorcycle crash near Toowoomba.

“Later that afternoon a car and a motorcycle hit a power pole and crashed in Annerley and just before 6pm a man was left in a critical condition after his vehicle hit a pole in Coopers Plains,” Ms Smith said.

“To hear this many crashes happened in the space of about four hours is very concerning.

“We are pleading with motorists to keep their focus on the road at all times and drive to conditions.

“The roads are getting busier with restrictions being lifted but it doesn’t mean we should be seeing more crashes.

“Please always be patient and remember nothing is more important than reaching your destination safely.”
