Trad apologises for train turmoil
Transport Minister Jackie Trad has apologised to train commuters impacted by lengthy peak hour delays on Tuesday afternoon after a 'points issue' wreaked havoc on all 13 Brisbane rail lines.
At approximately 4:30pm on Tuesday, trains travelling in both directions on all lines through Roma Street were affected with passengers experiencing delays of 45 minutes.
Minister Trad apologised to News.com to the thousands of commuters caught up in the drama.
“We run a large network and from time to time things go wrong, but can I just apologise to commuters who are experiencing delays,” Minister Trad said.
“If there are people who experience significant delays I’ll talk to my agency, to QR about what we can do and the possibility of refunds.”
Queensland Rail was able to divert trains around platform 8 where the initial fault was located after 5:45pm but residual delays were felt until late in the evening.
