Multi-million dollar upgrade for CQ road

Blackwater-Rolleston Road had been given a $8.1 million facelift, improving safety and accessibility to the key central Queensland corridor.

The State Government announced works to seal the stretch have been completed as part of a joint project with Central Highlands Regional Council. .

RACQ Principal Traffic and Safety Engineer Gregory Miszkowycz said the upgrades had improved the safety and reliability of the road.

“The Blackwater-Rolleston road is an important link for the people of central Queensland, connecting the Capricorn and Dawson Highways. It’s an arterial road used by locals, tourists and businesses alike,” Mr Miszkowycz said.

“A fully sealed road will provide not only a smoother experience for road users but will also improve water drainage in times of heavy rainfall.”
