RACQ LifeFlight airlifts a woman bitten by a snake

A woman has been winched off a mountain by the RACQ LifeFlight Rescue helicopter, after she was bitten by a snake.

The Sunshine Coast-based helicopter was called to Mount Coolum around 10am Monday to winch the woman, aged in her twenties, off the mountain.

The patient was flown in a stable condition to Sunshine Coast University Hospital.

The 2017-2018 financial year was a record year for LifeFlight for lifesaving missions with its aeromedical crews, community helicopters and Air Ambulance jets performing a record 5,452 missions throughout Queensland and around the world.
