RACQ thanks Qld for raising more than $1m

On Sunday, 15,000 runners, joggers and walkers pounded the pavement at the RACQ International Women’s Day Fun Run to raise more than $1 million for women with breast cancer.

RACQ spokesperson Lucinda Ross said the event was a great success and thanked the volunteers who helped ensure it ran smoothly.

“We were so lucky to be supported by more than 270 volunteers who gave up their Sunday morning to make sure everyone enjoyed the run,” Ms Ross said.

“It was also a great help to have the support of QPS to close roads and make sure the track was safe.

“Most importantly, the day wouldn’t have been the same without the thousands of people who got out there and ran, held fundraisers or donated money to this important cause.”

Donations can still be made until 8 April at the RACQ International Women’s Day Fun Run website
