Changes to mask rules while travelling in Greater Brisbane
RACQ has informed Greater Brisbane motorists they would no longer need to wear masks while travelling in their own vehicles from 6pm 11 January, but reminded them masks would still be mandatory on other modes of transport.
Club spokesperson Clare Hunter said, until 1am 22 January, if residents in Greater Brisbane travelled on public transport, in taxis or rideshares, they had to wear a mask.
“The three-day lockdown for Greater Brisbane is ending Monday night, but the Queensland Government has set rules around masks for the next 10 days to keep Queenslanders safe,” Ms Hunter said.
“Pack your mask with you whenever you leave the house and make sure you put one on while commuting.
“You no longer have to wear one while in your car but have a mask handy to go into indoor public places like shops and libraries as per the new rules.”
