Crashes cause long delays on SEQ roads
RACQ has urged motorists to avoid two major motorways this morning after two separate crashes on south east Queensland roads.
Club spokesperson Lauren Ritchie said there were long delays on the Gateway Motorway after a four vehicle crash in the southbound lanes.
“There is heavy congestion from Bracken Ridge all the way back to North Lakes this morning,” Ms Ritchie said.
“Traffic is moving through on the shoulder lane, but there will be a lengthy wait if you’re heading into the city this morning.
“Please plan an alternate route or allow extra travel time as the scene is cleaned up by emergency services.
“The roads will be busier this week as Prep, Year 1, Year 11 and 12 students go back to school, so please remember to drive to conditions and pack your patience.”
Ms Ritchie said there was also heavy traffic after a fatal crash on the Pacific Motorway at Loganholme this morning.
“Just before 6am there was a single-vehicle crash just before the Logan Hyperdome,” she said.
“Police have blocked the right and centre southbound lanes and motorists are being urged to avoid the area.”
