Road closures around Lang Park for Origin III

RACQ has warned motorists to expect increased traffic and road closures this evening as tens of thousands of fans head to Lang Park for the State of Origin decider.

Brisbane City Council (BCC) said during events in Milton, a 15 minute parking limit applied on all roads from midday to 10pm, unless signed otherwise.

RACQ’s Lauren Ritchie urged fans heading to the match and local establishments to leave the car at home and take public transport.

“The area around Lang Park will be a hive of activity and there will be road closures as fans head to the stadium for tonight’s game,” Ms Ritchie said.

“If you have a ticket or stadium membership, you can travel for free on BCC buses and on Queensland Rail City Network trains, but people should be aware free travel doesn’t apply on BCC ferries or Airtrain services.

“Anyone who does need to drive around the Milton area tonight should check RACQ’s road conditions to plan their trip in advance.”
