Man airlifted with multi trauma injuries after plane crash lands

The RACQ LifeFlight Rescue helicopter has airlifted a man to hospital after a plane crash landed at Caloundra Airport on the Sunshine Coast.

The 49 year old was on board with three others as part of a joyride flight group which took off 150km from Caloundra.

The Rescue chopper arrived with Queensland Fire and Emergency Services and Queensland Ambulance Service (QAS) already on the scene and treated the man for multi trauma injuries.

He was then airlifted to the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital in a critical condition.

A second man was treated by QAS and taken to the Sunshine Coast University Hospital in a serious condition.

The two other passengers, both women, were treated for minor injuries.
