Inner City Bypass roadworks underway
Brisbane motorists have been warned construction upgrades to the Inner City Bypass (ICB) would impact traffic over several upcoming weekends.
Gio Via advised the changed traffic conditions would be in place for the next five consecutive weekends from Friday 12 January to Monday 12 February.
Eastbound lanes of the ICB would be reduced between Legacy Way and the Herston Road exit. The Herston Road exit would also be closed between 7pm and 5am during January and 8pm to 5am in February.
RACQ’s Lauren Ritchie said it was likely the lane changes would have flow on effects.
“Road works can result in congestion, so we advise motorists to leave extra time to get to their destination,” Ms Ritchie said.
“It may even be beneficial to avoid any unnecessary travel on the ICB during this time.
“It’s also important to remember that you must travel at the signposted speed, to protect your safety and the safety of road workers.”
The latest road conditions can be viewed on RACQ’s road conditions website.
