RACQ Foundation: here to help community groups
Community groups affected by Queensland’s recent severe weather have been urged to apply for funding from the RACQ Foundation.
RACQ Foundation spokesperson Renee Smith said grants of up to $50,000, and up to $200,000 in exceptional circumstances, were available to organisations hit hard by Cyclone Debbie and the associated deluge.
“Community organisations are often the beating heart of neighbourhoods and it can be a morale boost for residents to see their local groups back up and running following an event like this,” Ms Smith said.
Affected community groups were encouraged to complete the application form before the current round of funding closes on 13 June.
The Foundation was established in the wake of the 2011 floods, with the purpose of helping community organisations rebuild following natural disasters.
