Major track closures to affect Brisbane train lines
Brisbane residents who intended to travel by train this weekend have been urged to review their route, as major maintenance works closed all inner-city tracks.
TransLink reported there would be track closures on all lines near the Brisbane CBD from the first service on Saturday 17 February until the last service Sunday 18 February.
RACQ’s Lauren Ritchie said locals needed to ensure they planned ahead and factored in significant changes to their regular routes.
“If you’re travelling to, or through the city over the weekend by rail, make sure you plan for disruptions,” Ms Ritchie said.
“All travellers on lines close to the CBD will need to transfer from their train to a replacement bus and this will likely mean a longer trip than usual.”
TransLink advised affected rail users to allow approximately 60 minutes extra travel time.
Normal train services would resume from the first service on Monday 19 February.
