Audi owners warned fuel tank could catch fire
RACQ has urged Audi owners to check their vehicles after 1,300 cars were recalled for a fault which could see the vehicle catch fire in a crash.
Audi issued the recall for Audi TT 4WD models sold between 2015 and 2019, as a bracket fitted on the vehicle could collide with and damage the fuel tank in a crash, causing a spill and a potential fire.
RACQ spokesperson Lauren Ritchie said Audi would contact owners of affected vehicles and drivers should take the recall seriously.
“If you’re in a crash, you and your passengers are at serious risk of injury or even death if it catches on fire,” Ms Ritchie said.
“If you have one of these vehicles, please take this recall seriously, contact Audi and book it in for a free inspection and repair.”
For more information or to book an inspection Audi drivers should call 1800 50 2834.
