Children hit by car walking to school

Two children have suffered serious injuries after they were hit by a car while crossing a road in south west Queensland.

The five year old girl and seven year old boy were this morning walking to school in Pittsworth, on the Darling Downs, at the time of the incident.

The girl suffered serious suspected head and multi-trauma injuries and was airlifted to Lady Cilento Children’s hospital by RACQ LifeFlight.

The boy was transported to hospital by the Queensland Government helicopter.
