Fuel up now to save
RACQ is urging motorists to fill up now, as fuel prices in south east Queensland dramatically rise.
The Brisbane and Ipswich markets entered the price hike phase of the price cycle on Wednesday afternoon, and the motoring body’s Renee Smith said other parts of the south east would soon follow.
“Motorists in Brisbane, Ipswich, the Sunshine Coast and Gold Coast should keep an eye out for cheap fuel, because it’s still available – however won’t last,” Ms Smith said.
“Prices are increasing in Brisbane, Ipswich and Moreton Bay to 142.9 cents per litre, and we know from previous price cycles that when Brisbane prices rise, surrounding areas aren’t far behind.”
Ms Smith said motorists could save hundreds of dollars each year by purchasing at the bottom of the price cycle.
