Warrego Highway blocked after truck rollover
RACQ has urged motorists to avoid the Warrego Highway inbound towards Brisbane, after a b-double truck loaded with grain rolled over and spilled its load near Ipswich.
The Courier Mail reported there were delays of up to 40 minutes as the major highway remained blocked.
Club spokesperson Lauren Ritchie said the crash happened just before 6am at Riverview and was still causing lengthy delays following the peak hour commute.
“The advice this morning is to steer clear of the Warrego Highway, as there will be a long wait if you are caught in traffic,” Ms Ritchie said.
“Traffic is banked up as far as North Tivoli, as all lanes are blocked on at the Riverview Road ramp. There is also congestion on surrounding roads, including Pine Street.
“The effort to remove the truck could take some time, so please delay travel or plan an alternate route if you can.”
