Prepare for Christmas track closures
RACQ has warned commuters to plan alternative transport ahead of track closures this Christmas long weekend.
Club spokesperson Lauren Ritchie said from first service on Christmas Day, Friday 25 December, until the last service Sunday 27 December, tracks would be closed on five lines.
“The lines impacted include the CBD and Inner North, Beenleigh, Cleveland, Doomben and Ferny Grove, all from Roma Street,” Ms Ritchie said.
“Works are being done over the holiday break to minimise disruption to commuters and to make way for Cross River Rail, so it will be short term pain for long term gain.
“In the meantime, buses will be running to replace train services and more information about bus stops can be found on the TransLink website.”
Ms Ritche said normal services would resume on the Ferny Grove and Inner North lines on Monday 28 December.
“The Beenleigh and Cleveland lines will have additional track closures on Monday and Tuesday,” she said.
“Doomben services don’t operate on Sundays and public holidays, so normal services will resume on Tuesday.”
