Where you can buy fuel for under $1 per litre
RACQ has urged Sunshine Coast motorists to snap up a bargain, with a cluster of servos selling fuel for under a dollar.
Club spokesperson Renee Smith said local motorists could take advantage of fuel for 99.9 cents per litre (cpl), with six sites around Warana and Birtinya selling unleaded for this price.
“The latest average price on the Sunshine Coast is 112.3cpl, so it just goes to show why it’s so important to shop around,” Ms Smith said.
“We don’t know how long these low prices will last, so take advantage of it now and fill the tank if you’re in the area.”
Ms Smith said the rest of south east Queensland was also entering or in the cheap phase of the unleaded fuel cycle.
“It’s good news for those planning on taking a road trip this weekend with more than half of the sites on the Gold Coast, and a third of sites in Brisbane and Sunshine Coast selling unleaded for 110cpl or lower,” she said.
“Now’s a good time to buy as there’s plenty of cheap fuel available, so it’s important drivers take a minute to jump on apps, like RACQ’s Fair Fuel Finder, to locate the best deal near them.
“We recommend drivers on the Gold Coast aim for 107cpl, and if you’re in Brisbane or the Sunshine Coast aim for 110cpl or less.”
