Temporary traffic changes for South Brisbane
With construction activity set to grind parts of South Brisbane to a halt on Saturday, the State’s peak motoring body has warned drivers to prepare for changed traffic conditions.
RACQ spokesperson Lauren Ritchie said Cordelia Street between Melbourne and Glenelg Streets would be most affected when engineers began works.
“Two out of three lanes along Cordelia Street will be closed to traffic so that’s going to mean there will be delays,” Ms Ritchie said.
“We know South Brisbane gets busy on the weekends so anyone heading there or passing through needs to be aware and plan their travel.”
Ms Ritchie said residents and local workers would still be able to get to their homes and businesses.
“Traffic controllers will be in place allowing staff and residents to get through, but there may be a build-up of traffic, so allow extra time,” she said.
“Be patient if you’re headed to the area and keep up to date with traffic on RACQ’s Road Conditions website.”
