Early morning traffic brought Brisbane to a halt
RACQ has urged motorists to allow extra travel time this morning after a crash on the Pacific Motorway at Slacks Creek caused lengthy delays.
Club spokesperson Lauren Ritchie said while the four-vehicle crash had been cleared, traffic was still backed up to Beenleigh as peak hour was coming to an end.
“We’re asking motorists travelling into the city this morning to allow extra travel time, with heavy delays on the southside because of an earlier crash,” Ms Ritchie said.
Ms Ritchie said there was also traffic banked up on the northside after a multi-vehicle crash on Gympie Arterial Road at Carseldine.
“With delays this morning on both sides of Brisbane, it’s timely reminder to motorists not to become complacent on the morning commute,” she said.
“All it takes is one crash to cause long delays for people travelling to work and school.”
