Signal issues cause Brisbane traffic nightmare
RACQ has warned motorists to expect significant delays on the Inner City Bypass and Coronation Drive inbound this morning, due to a traffic signal issue.
Club spokesperson Lauren Ritchie said a traffic light failure at the intersection of Hale Street and Coronation Drive had caused a big headache for commuters.
“Traffic is backed up for six kilometres on the Inner City Bypass all the way back to Breakfast Creek,” Ms Ritchie said.
“On Coronation Drive there are also huge delays, with congestion for seven kilometres all the way back to Chapel Hill.”
Ms Ritchie said motorists should delay travel or allow extra time if possible as crews worked to fix the signal issues.
“This is causing a traffic nightmare this morning, as the commuter and school traffic peaks align,” she said.
“Please pack your patience if you’re stuck in traffic as it’s going to take some time for the congestion to clear.”
