RACQ renews life saving sponsorship

RACQ has reinforced its commitment to rescuing Queenslanders, confirming it would extend it’s 25-year long sponsorship of three of Queensland’s key rescue helicopter services.

Coming at a cost of $6.5 million, RACQ’s Head of Community and Education David Contarini said it was money well spent.

“We’re extremely proud to be able to continue this sponsorship to keep these lifesaving choppers in the air,” Mr Contarini said.

“Last year alone, the RACQ Rescue Helicopter Network came to the rescue of more than 2,750 Queenslanders.

“This is a vital service which operates 24 hours a day, 365 days a year ensuring seriously ill and critically injured Queenslanders get the medical assistance they need.”

Mr Contarini thanked RACQ members for continuing to support the sponsorship.

“As a mutual organisation, every dollar we make is members’ money, so we appreciate that they continue to encourage our support of this service,” he said.

The RACQ Rescue Helicopter Network is made up of RACQ Capricorn Rescue, RACQ CQ Rescue and RACQ LifeFlight Rescue. Together they offer cover from the southern end of the Gold Coast to Townsville and into the north west of Queensland.
