Community groups urged to apply for sponsorship

Queensland community groups have been encouraged to apply for the latest round of RACQ Local Sponsorship Grants, which opened on Thursday, and helped fund meaningful local initiatives.

RACQ spokesperson Lucinda Ross said twice a year the Club offered grants of up to $3000 to Queensland organisations, businesses, clubs, associations, and charities.

“We want to support one-off activities and initiatives which can make a big difference to Queenslanders, whether that be at a local or State level,” Ms Ross said.

“We know community groups are the backbone of towns and cities across the State and many have been hit hard by COVID-19.

“We’re putting the call out to eligible groups to submit their application before this round of grants closes on 15 November.

“In the previous round, seven groups received $15,000 in funding which went towards defibrillators, care kits for children, books, equipment and even helped pay for a boating hazard guide.”
