Industrial action to cause major delays for Sunday drivers
The State’s peak motoring body has warned of major delays in the Brisbane area when truck drivers took to the streets in a slow procession on Sunday.
AutoTalk reported hordes of heavy vehicle operators would crawl their rigs through capital cities across Australia as part of planned industrial action.
RACQ spokesperson Clare Hunter urged drivers who would travel between Larapinta and Murarrie to consider seeking an alternative route.
“You could be caught out in congestion today if you’re out on the road from about 10am, so think about retiming your travel or look at other ways to reach your destination,” Ms Hunter said.
“Queensland Police will be working closely with organisers to ensure this activity is carried out in a safe manner and will help minimise disruptions to other road users.”
