A gardener's paradise
Celebrate plants and sub-tropical living at the Brisbane Garden and Plant Expo.
Celebrate sub-tropical living at this year’s Brisbane Garden and Plant Expo, with an epic line-up of plant exhibitors and guest speakers on show at Brisbane’s Doomben Racecourse from 16-17 March.
More than 100 unique plant exhibitors will showcase a full range of commonly grown plants from Queensland, along with some rare and collectable types that are not found in local nurseries or hardware stores.
Horticulturist Paul Plant and Event Coordinator Ruth O’Dowd have been running the expo since 2012 and said each year it was growing bigger.
“It’s now one of the largest plant expos in Brisbane with more than 10,000 national and international visitors,” Mr Plant said.
“It’s the perfect event for plant collectors, beginner gardeners and families who are eager to learn more about gardening.”
The event features guest speakers comprising local and interstate expert horticulturists, who will be sharing their plant knowledge, skills and enthusiasm about gardening in a sub-tropical climate.
Television personality Costa Georgiadis from Gardening Australia will headline this year’s event, along with guest speakers Frances Michaels, Dr Tobias Smith and Annette Irish.
Kids can also look forward to Kids Zone – a space dedicated to growing flowers, playing with earthworms and chickens and learning about nature.
