Smart bike helmet
Lumos is the world’s first smart bike helmet integrating lights, hard brake, turn signals and helmet into a single, cohesive unit.
The award-winning design offers a solution for rider safety and visibility, potentially lowering the incidence of accidents and road rage.
Bright white LED lights in the front of the helmet and bright red LED lights in the rear provide ample illumination to ensure that riders stand out on the road.
The helmet features bright left and right turn signals that are activated via a wireless remote on the handlebar. This enables drivers to see your intentions and (hopefully) give you space to turn.
Lumos can sense when you are slowing down and will automatically turn all the rear lights red. While this feature affects battery life, it can be turned off by default and activated/deactivated at any time.
The helmet comes with a magnetic USB cable for recharging — if you use Lumos for 30 minutes every day, each charge will last about a week. Lumos is waterproof too, so you can take it out with you and stay safe come rain or shine.
The company’s founders launched Lumos on Kickstarter to raise the necessary funds to develop the helmet to production level. You can now order the helmet on their website along with a range of accessories.
