Brisbane Fashion Month
Queensland designers will be in the spotlight for Brisbane Fashion Month presented by Wintergarden.
Running from 1-31 October, each week will offer something different for fashion lovers, including free runway shows, competitions and a Queen Street pop up store promoting local designers.
“Audiences will be able to come and see everything from student and emerging designers through to the biggest names in fashion on the runway, as well as shop from a hand-picked selection of labels in the Wintergarden pop-up store throughout October,” Brisbane Fashion Month director Laura Churchill said.
The month will end with a show-stopping runway production on 24 October at West Village and Resort Finale on the 31 October at the Next hotel. The shows will be jam packed with talented designers from across Queensland, ready to parade their best 2019 resort wear looks.
“We will see a stunning array of active, swim and high-end resort wear on show in a quintessentially Queensland gala event,” Laura said.
Those wanting to upskill and network also can attend the Brisbane Fashion Month signature business workshop. Presented by Australia Post, it will feature Vogue Australia sustainability editor Clare Press.
Shopping for the races will become easier with the release of the Pocket Guide to Brisbane Fashion. The little book is available from September and will help shoppers navigate the Brisbane shopping scene.
No fashion month would be complete without a competition. The Brisbane Fashion Month design competition will give the winning designer the chance to showcase their work in the Next Gen runway show in Queen Street Mall.
