Enjoy a weekend away at Keira Farm

Camp or glamp on a cattle farm just a short drive from the city.

Searching for some peace and quiet?

Take a road trip to Keira Farm, a stunning 200ha cattle farm just 15 minutes from Ipswich and 45 minutes from Brisbane.

The family farm is nestled on the edge of the Scenic Rim between a natural wetland and Warrill Creek, offering breathtaking views of the Flinders Ranges.

Guests can choose to stay at the modern Keira Billy Cottage, pitch a tent at the designated camping area or book the new glamping tent.

It’s a great place to stay if you are attending an event in the Scenic Rim, Ipswich CBD or Willowbank Raceway, or if you are just eager to explore the region.

Keira Farm owner Sandra Pegler said it was a pleasure to share the place which has provided her family and friends with respite from today’s busy life.

“Keira Farm is the perfect escape for those wanting to get away from the city,” Ms Pegler said.

“Come and relax in a quiet spot to enjoy the views, the wildlife, a book or a bottle.

“It’s a great spot to sit, watch the sunset and enjoy the smell of a crackling fire.”

Keira Billy Cottage

Visitors can opt to stay at the Keira Billy Cottage, a cosy pioneer-style cottage located well away from the main homestead. It was originally built in 1974 but has recently been renovated to offer stunning log furniture, a large outdoor deck with TV, air-conditioning and a fully equipped kitchen. Enjoy watching the sunrise or sunset from the deck, the open fire pit or while sipping a glass of champaign in the luxurious outdoor spa bath.

Glamping at The Lodge

Try something new and stay the night at The Lodge. This beautifully decked out 5m-wide bell tent is decorated with fairy lights and features a queen-size bed with quality linen, pillows, plush bath towels, armchairs, floor cushions and a rug. The tent is lit by lanterns and offers a Bluetooth speaker and power bank for guests to charge their devices. Outside of the tent is your own fire pit with a camp oven, jaffle iron, esky with ice, crockery, cutlery, kettle and a table and chairs for dining. While the tent does not feature a bathroom, guests have exclusive access to their very own gas-heated camp shower and toilet. The Lodge is the perfect balance between comfort and roughing it.

The property includes 2.4ha specifically designated for camping. As there are no roads or marked camp sites, campers have the freedom to pitch a tent anywhere they like within the camping area. They also have access to clean amenities with flushing toilets and hot showers. Dogs are welcome, however they must be leashed at all times.  The camping site is suitable for 2WD, 4WD, camper trailers and caravans.
