Get to the Catch
Executive Chef Kathy Tindall reveals all about the Catch restaurant at Surfers Paradise.
Inspired by the Gold Coast lifestyle, the Catch restaurant offers a vibrant, coastal atmosphere with fresh and affordable cuisine.
Catch is located within the Hilton at Surfers Paradise and features large, circular porthole windows – which fill the restaurant with natural light – and an open kitchen.
The seasonal menu, created by Executive Chef Kathy Tindall, has subtle Asian influences and a focus on sustainable seafood. To get a better taste of the restaurant, we interviewed Kathy to find out what diners can expect from this restaurant.
What sort of food are you serving at Catch?
It is fresh, simple Australian produce with an Asian flair to highlight the wonderful ingredients.
Is there a signature dish?
Grilled barramundi with coconut broth and sugar snaps is our signature dish.
Which is your favourite meal?
I love the fresh, homemade taco with avocado, corn and lime salsa, pickled onions and chipotle. There have been a few varieties with soft shell crab and, currently, the filling is delicious tempura barramundi.
What is special about the wine list?
With a list of more than 70 wines including some fabulous cellar offerings, there is something to keep every guest satisfied.
Are there local flavours on the menu that guests can taste?
There are Mooloolah prawns and Moreton Bay bugs for a start. We like to support our local farmers and suppliers by buying fresh fruit and vegetables from the surrounding area. Our other seafood options and meat selections support Australian producers.
Do we need to book?
Bookings are not essential, but they are advised on Friday and Saturdays.
Is parking available?
Yes. Secure Parking is located beneath the hotel.
