Help save injured native animals

Join the Terri, Bindi and Robert Irwin at Australia Zoo Wildlife Warrior’s biggest fundraiser.

The Australia Zoo Wildlife Warriors biggest fundraising event, the annual Steve Irwin Gala Dinner, will take place in Brisbane on 27 November 2021.

The Gala, which raises money to support conservation projects in Australia and overseas, will enable the Australia Zoo Wildlife Hospital to continue its life-saving work.

An Australia Zoo Wildlife Warriors spokesperson said the funds would help the Wildlife Hospital during a time when it needed it most.

“Trauma Season is the busiest and most confronting time of the year for the Australia Zoo Wildlife Hospital… one of the largest and busiest purpose-built facilities in the world,” the spokesperson said.

“From September to February each year, wildlife is on the move looking for food, water, shelter, and a friend for mating, with younger ones eager to explore. It is during this time when patient admissions triple.

“Proceeds from the Steve Irwin Gala Dinner will significantly help the Australia Zoo Wildlife Hospital at a time when it will just be coming out of trauma season and heading into bushfire season.”

The Gala Dinner celebrates the life and legacy of Steve Irwin, the “original Wildlife Warrior”.

“Steve Irwin had a vision for conservation where people and wildlife could live harmoniously alongside each other,” the Wildlife Warriors spokesperson said.

“Wildlife Warriors was created as a way to include and involve caring people in the support and conservation of the world’s most threatened wildlife species and natural habitats.

“From an individual animal to an entire species, Wildlife Warriors from around the world have joined the mission of saving wildlife and wild places, helping to continue Steve’s legacy and everything he stood for.”

Gala Dinner guests will be treated to a khaki-decked ballroom with a scrumptious three-course dinner and a night of wild fun and dancing with roving animals, entertainers and guest speakers.

The event auctions will include exclusive trips to Australia's most beautiful and remote locations, including the Steve Irwin Wildlife Reserve, a signed limited-edition canvas from Robert Irwin, a chance to name one of Australia Zoo’s newest baby animals and some amazing RACQ prizes.

This year’s Croc Lotto will also raffle a new Yaris Cross GX AWD Hybrid sponsored by Scifleet Toyota.

RACQ is a proud presenting partner of the Steve Irwin Gala Dinner.
