There’s mystery in the air

Sponsored content: Comedy legend Michael Veitch takes us back to the golden age of radio with a brand new and very real radio drama.

Remember the days before television? When the whole family gathered round the wireless and settled in for Life with Dexter or Night Beat and mum never missed an episode of Blue Hills or Dr Paul. With just a couple of voice actors and a few well-timed sound effects we conjured whole worlds with our imaginations.

Mystery in the Air, a sharply written, intelligent comedy written by, and starring, Michael Veitch and Simon Oats revives this golden age of entertainment at QUT Gardens Theatre, Brisbane on 3 - 4 April.

A much-loved but fading radio star (Veitch) is feeling the heat from the dashing newcomer (Oats) hired to boost the failing ratings of the popular weekly radio serial Mystery in the Air! Their big egos clash as workplace rivalry comes to a head and threatens to derail the show completely. Live comedy theatre at its finest, Mystery in the Air crosses the boundaries of politically correctness yet still manages to hold you by the heartstrings.
